Head of the Housatonic

Housatonic River, Shelton, CT - The masters took to the Housatonic River on Saturday for the Head of the Housatonic. The 2.7 mile course is notable for its wide vistas, lack of bridges and narrow course towards the finish. Two crews finished in the top-half and earned an automatic bid for next year’s Head of the Housatonic.

In the men's quadruple sculls Tom Chyla (stroke), Peter Klose (three), Justin Bohan (two) and Ivan Rudolph-Shabinksy (bow) took silver behind composite crew of 1980/Great Bay/Maine/Upper Valley.

In the women's quadruple sculls the Rockland/Piermont composite crew of Kathy Kearney (stroke), Liz Gleason (three), Elisabeth Tapley (two) and Leslie Horn (bow) finished outside of the medals in fourth in a field of eight crews.
