Nyack, NY - With nearly 45 years of combined coaching and rowing experience, Veli Etropolski has been named Rockland Rowing's Head Boy's Rowing Coach.
Over the years Veli Etropolski has served as an assistant rowing coach for Manhattan College, Fordham University, Montclair High School, Blair Academy and the Bulgarian National Team. Prior to coaching Veli Etropolski was a competitor on the Bulgarian National Team winning numerous national championships in both sculling and sweep boats.
“I couldn’t be more excited to become Rockland Rowing’s head boy’s rowing coach,” Etropolski said. “Coaching athletes to achieving their best is the most fulfilling passion I have and I am honored and delighted to work with the boy’s rowing team at Rockland Rowing Association.”
“Veli’s 30 years experience of coaching young athletes coupled with his 15 years as a national team rower makes him a perfect fit to lead our boy’s program,” said Director of Rowing Melissa Boyd. “We look forward to the leadership he will bring to our boy’s program and we are confident in his ability to lead them to greater competitive success."
Etropolski is a native of Bulgaria and studied mathematics for his undergraduate degree, and completed a master's degree in hydrogeology and engineering geology at the Institute of Mining and Geology in Sofia, and a second master’s degree in applied mathematics from the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Sofia in 1982 and 1983 respectively. Etropolski lives with his wife in New Jersey.
