After rough conditions at Mercer last weekend, the youth team got the chance to race full 2ks in good conditions at the Cooper Cup on Sunday in Camden, New Jersey.

Anthony Rostek and Ryan Almond had an easy road to the final in the men’s 1x, coming first and second in their heat, ten seconds ahead of the next competitor. The final later in the morning came down to the sprint with a close finish between the top four boats. Anthony (8:27.5) finished second and Ryan (8:28.9) came in third only slightly behind Conshohocken in first place (8:26.6).

Caroline High had an excellent morning race, qualifying for the final. She finished the final in 4th place with a time of 9:45.7, and was the youngest competitor to qualify for the final.

Celeste Voutsinas-Klose and Hannah Hely had a rough start in their heat, but qualified for the final by a tenth of a second. In the final, they raced against last year’s winners of the women’s 2x from youth nationals. They had a great race, finishing fourth with a time of 9:04.8
